November has several major releases for fans of open world games, led by Grand Theft Auto VI’s long-awaited arrival. However, the month’s lineup goes beyond massive cities and action-packed adventures. There are fantasy RPGs, survival games built around dangerous weather, and peaceful worlds where exploration takes priority over combat.
The open world games November 2026 lineup also includes new expansions, Early Access launches, and updated versions of older favorites. Here’s what you can expect from the biggest releases arriving across PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch 2.
Grand Theft Auto VI

Release Date: November 19, 2026
Platforms: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S
Jason and Lucia find themselves in serious trouble after a seemingly straightforward criminal job goes wrong. Their story unfolds across Leonida, where Vice City’s crowded streets and lively nightlife are only one part of the landscape. Beyond the city, the Leonida Keys offer tropical islands, while Grassrivers brings wetlands filled with wildlife. Further north, Mount Kalaga introduces a different side of the state, with forests and rougher terrain to explore.
Rockstar is placing the relationship between its two protagonists at the center of the story. Criminal encounters, dangerous situations, and the people they meet will shape their journey through Leonida. GTA VI is scheduled to arrive on November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with no PC release date announced so far.
Tom Clancy’s The Division 2: Echoes of Central Park

Release Date: November 3, 2026 (DLC)
Platforms: PC, PlayStation, Xbox
Central Park has become one of New York’s most disturbing locations following the outbreak. Once used as a mass burial ground, the area is now surrounded by stories of disappearances and an unknown threat. Echoes of Central Park sends Division agents into this dangerous environment after an emergency signal is detected. The expansion also opens up parts of the Upper West Side, where familiar streets have gradually been reclaimed by vegetation.
The new campaign introduces additional combat encounters, equipment, and skill variants, including the Corrosive Trap and Gas Bomber. Certain sections remove GPS assistance, forcing agents to navigate hostile territory with less information than usual. Players can also choose different companions during replayable missions, adding variety to encounters. As downloadable content for The Division 2, Echoes of Central Park expands the existing game rather than launching as a separate title.
World of Warcraft: Forever

Release Date: November 4, 2026
Platform: PC
World of Warcraft: Forever revisits Azeroth’s original continents but doesn’t simply recreate the old version of the MMO. Set after Warcraft III: Reforged’s Forsaken Kingdom story, it introduces a reimagined Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor, with expanded zones, updated class systems, and more than a thousand new quests. Characters can progress to level 60 while exploring familiar locations alongside newly developed areas.
Expanded race and class combinations include Dwarf Shamans and Forsaken Paladins, while the new Skyborne race adds another option for players purchasing an eligible upgrade. Dungeons, group activities, and future raids will support continued progression. Rather than replacing modern World of Warcraft or Classic, Forever will operate as a separate, ongoing experience. Access to the base experience will be included with an existing WoW subscription.
Stormforge

Release Date: November 10, 2026 (Early Access)
Platform: PC
Magical storms are both the greatest danger and one of the most valuable resources in Stormforge. The fantasy world of Sorana has been devastated by destructive weather and hostile creatures, leaving players to gather supplies, explore ancient ruins, and confront the forces responsible for the chaos. Entering a storm can be risky, but the materials found inside are important for crafting stronger equipment and developing your settlement.
Its procedurally generated landscape contains different environments, enemies, and opportunities for exploration. You can construct shelters, develop combat abilities, and combine skills from several character paths rather than being restricted to a single traditional class. Stormforge also supports cooperative play for up to eight players. The Early Access version arrives on Steam in November, with further development planned after launch.
Lightyear Frontier

Release Date: November 4, 2026 (Version 1.0)
Platforms: PC, Xbox Series X|S
Farming an alien planet feels rather different when your main piece of equipment is a customizable mechanical suit. Lightyear Frontier uses its mech for planting crops, collecting materials, cleaning polluted areas, and transforming unfamiliar land into a working farm. You can gradually expand your homestead while exploring the planet’s wilderness and uncovering clues about its past. Up to four players can work together, although the adventure also supports solo play.
The November update marks its departure from Early Access rather than its original launch. Version 1.0 adds two regions, Sandswept Highlands and Hollow Marsh, alongside additional mech improvements, farming changes, and the conclusion of its story. Existing players will also be able to continue using their saves. For anyone interested in a calmer open-world game built around farming and exploration, this is one of November’s notable releases.
Loftia

Release Date: November 3, 2026 (Early Access)
Platforms: PC, Mac
Loftia imagines a future where technology and nature have developed together instead of competing against each other. Its floating islands are home to communities that players can help build through farming, crafting, and shared activities. You can decorate your own house, grow crops, and spend time with other players while contributing to a larger, environmentally conscious world. The colorful setting draws heavily on solarpunk ideas rather than traditional fantasy combat.
There is also more to do beyond maintaining a home. Exploring different locations, gathering materials, and working toward community goals will form important parts of the experience. Loftia is designed as a cozy online MMO, making social interaction and cooperation central to its identity. The game enters Early Access on November 3 for PC and Mac, while a Nintendo Switch release is planned for 2027.
Gothic 3 Classic

Release Date: November 24, 2026
Platforms: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2
The Nameless Hero arrives on the mainland to find Myrtana under Orc occupation. King Rhobar’s remaining forces continue their resistance, but the conflict extends beyond a simple struggle between two factions. Rebels, Orcs, and Hashishin all have their own interests, and the decisions you make influence your relationships across the kingdom. Instead of following a rigid character class, Gothic 3 lets you develop different abilities as you explore its enormous world.
The landscape stretches from Myrtana’s forests to the deserts of Varant and the frozen regions of Nordmar. Settlements, quests, and faction relationships create different routes through the adventure. Originally released on PC in 2006, Gothic 3 is returning as Gothic 3 Classic for modern consoles. Its November launch introduces the open-world RPG to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
Bonus: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Release Date: November 5, 2026
Platform: Nintendo Switch 2
Link’s journey begins with a threat to Hyrule as Ganondorf attempts to seize the Triforce. Guided by Navi, he travels between forests, villages, mountains, and dangerous dungeons, gradually collecting equipment needed to overcome new obstacles. The Ocarina itself plays an important role, with melodies used to interact with the world and progress through the adventure. Unlike Breath of the Wild, this classic follows a more structured design, with certain areas and challenges unlocked through story progression.
The Nintendo Switch 2 remake rebuilds the original 1998 adventure with updated visuals, voiced cutscenes, and expanded dialogue. Modern camera controls, along with new jumping and dashing abilities, will also change how Link moves through Hyrule. Although its connected regions are more restricted than those of modern open-world games, Ocarina of Time remains an important example of exploration-driven adventure design.
Which November 2026 Open World Game Should You Watch?
Grand Theft Auto VI is the month’s biggest headline, but the other releases cover very different interests. Stormforge focuses on survival and crafting, while Loftia and Lightyear Frontier offer more relaxed experiences built around exploration and building.
RPG fans can look toward World of Warcraft: Forever and Gothic 3 Classic, while The Division 2’s new DLC adds another reason to return to New York. Finally, the Ocarina of Time remake brings a classic adventure to Nintendo Switch 2. With several different launch types across the month, it’s worth checking whether each release is a new game, an expansion, or a major update before choosing what to play.
